Each step is marked by a unique whimsical shape, reminiscent of totemic symbols, in an organic light brown set off by a heathered driftwood grey background.

The idea developed from a solid totemic inspiration to a more playful broken form, like a shadow play or the dance of reflections in water. The resulting pattern creates a sense of movement across the steps.

Solid wide steps are also available in driftwood grey.

Hand knotted in Nepal at 100 knots per inch with undyed and rapidly renewable nettle fibers, theses rugs have a natural earthy tone, contrasted with shimmery silk accents in a rich copper hue.

Nettle is similar to hemp in durability, but softer under foot. The adaptable pattern can be arranged with all the shapes along one edge, or alternated in any variation. Solid nettle steps are also available.
